B i o g r a p h y

​Sara was born in 1981 in France but moved to Iran at the age of 7 . ​
She started learning the Tonbak, a persian goblet drum, when she was 16.​
After a year, she started learning the Daf, Kurdish frame drum.​
She later did her BSc degree in Electrical engineering and alongside her studies she continued taking music lessons.  She has had significant performance with different ensembles in Iran, Sweden, Germany, Dubai, Austria, Slovakia, India , Canada and the United Kingdom.
Music bands such as Isfahan National Orchestra, Hagh-Jouyan, Ghazal, Rohab, Shurangiz, Irandokht, Awazi Win, Fear of the Forest (English Folk music band),  Venge Dur, ( a Kurdish band based in London), and Ashtee Ensmble. She has recently joined the Ajam Band, a London based band, and had successful performances at Tirgan festival in Toronto in July 2013.
In 2000, she got the Music teaching certificate and has been teaching the Daf to many students since then.
In 2006, she made her own precussion ensemble associated with her students and composed Rhythmic Pieces based on Kurdish, Persian and fusion music.  She won the first place in the Daf player's competition in 2008, held in Kurdistan province of Iran (the Sanandaj Daf Festival).  She studied music at Morely College, where she was chosen to teach rhythm and Daf to other students.
